Bamboo is the Swiss army knife of our range, for a number of reasons. 

First of all it works equally well indoors or out, both in terms of style and weather resistance.  It looks good as an individual plant, or put together as a long run.

We can also make it in any height from around 60cm to around 15 metres tall, which is truly humungous. Another advantage is that it doesn’t get a ridiculously wide canopy as it gets taller, so it’s great for lightwells and those tall-but-narrow glazed areas that run from basement to roof.

Is there no end to its qualities, we hear you ask?  Well, it makes a really nice shallow privacy screen on glazed balconies but still lets light through, and finally the fact that there are lots of little leaves means that it casts really pretty shadows when lit well.

So what’s the downside?  Well, we put some on the top bit (technical phrase…) of a yacht and it got well and truly shredded during what was described as ‘a bit of a blow’.  So, if you happen to have a yacht, stick to boxwood...
